Sometimes when upgrading applications, some icons/applications are missing like BBM, Appworld, etc. If this happens, just go to:
c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader.
There is a file called "Loader". Double click that and you're set.
Or Application Loader must finished loading. Try and try until it loads.
